Los abanicos aquí presentados son piezas únicas. Los abanicos son objetos rituales y ceremoniales que van tomando más fuerza y energía a medida que se van utilizando, en ellos no hay que ver sólo unas simples plumas sino el espíritu del animal que sigue estando en ellas, no son algo muerto, los Nativos Americanos ya sabían que no había nada muerto y que todo está imbuido por un espíritu, así, decían que nosotros los blancos nos rodeamos de cadáveres, pues para nosotros las cosas inanimadas carecen de vida propia, cosa que ellos ya sabían que no era así. Todo tiene su propia energía y al reconocer esto hacemos que el abanico trabaje mejor con nosotros que si sólo pensáramos que son unas simples plumas, pues al hacerlo nos conectamos con la energía de ese animal.
Estos abanicos también llevan un gran trabajo, no solo por las horas invertidas en ellos para elegir y trabajar con las plumas, piedras y cuero adecuado, sino también por las horas invertidas en conseguir lo más difícil de todo, las plumas, por desgracia no tengo un terreno con querid@s pav@s que sueltan las plumas cada año, así que, cuando es la época de suelta de plumas, recorro los lugares donde tienen a estos querid@s herman@s u otras aves y voy recogiendo las que puedo, esto se traduce en horas y kilómetros que no son pagados por el precio que pongo en los abanicos, pero esto es algo que no me importa pues el realizar este trabajo me da una gran satisfacción.
En mi trabajo garantizo que las plumas que uso no han sido arrancadas de ningún animal vivo, ni traen consigo ninguna energía extraña. Los abanicos son neutros y listos para ser usados.
